Kiyoyuki Ken Okuyama spent two years developing this eyewear line after a career designing production cars. The result is not a concept exercise. Every model is meant to be worn, and the design starts from real-world practicality before it reaches for anything new.
What ties the collection together is not a shape. It is the sensibility: refined three-dimensional surfaces and detailing that holds up when you look closely, the same way a car body does.
Design Concept
Modern, Simple, Timeless
Okuyama has described three principles behind the core product. They explain why the frames look restrained in a photograph and more interesting in your hands.
01
Modern
Designs are developed as production eyewear, not concept pieces, so innovation is grounded in what can actually be worn every day.
02
Simple
Form is reduced until only what the frame needs remains, which is why the detailing carries so much of the character.
03
Timeless
The intent is eyewear that still looks considered years from now rather than frames tied to one season.
What We Carry
The Series, and Who Each One Suits
The collection is organized into series with clearly different intentions. Availability in our optical changes, so call ahead if there is a specific series you want to try.
Sports
Dynamic form, drawn from car design
The Sports line is the most sculptural part of the collection. Surfaces are shaped in three dimensions rather than cut flat, which gives the frame front a sense of movement even when it is sitting still.
It is the line where Okuyama's automotive background is easiest to read, and it tends to suit patients who want their eyewear to be noticed.
Often chosen by: Patients who want presence and a strong, athletic frame front

Stile
Individuality with a surprisingly mild fit
Stile means style in Italian, and this line is built for patients who want a frame that is clearly their own. The shapes are the most adventurous in the collection.
The comfort is what surprises people. The forms look sharp, but the fit is deliberately gentle, because the geometry was resolved around function rather than appearance alone.
Often chosen by: Patients who want a distinctive frame without giving up comfort

Noble
Minimal design, no compromise
Noble reads as quiet. Nothing is added for effect, and the frames carry an intelligent, professional impression that works well in a business setting.
The interest is in the detail. Bridges, rims, and temple joints are finished carefully enough that the restraint feels intentional rather than plain.
Often chosen by: Professional wear and patients who prefer understatement

Vita
Lifestyle frames with a sense of play
Vita is designed around how people actually live rather than around a single formal look. Color and shape are used more freely here than anywhere else in the collection.
The wearing comfort of the core line is kept intact, so the playfulness sits on top of a frame that is still built to be worn all day.
Often chosen by: Second pairs and patients who want color or personality

Sunglasses
Timeless shapes, comfortable vision
The sunglass line follows the same timeless brief as the optical frames, so the shapes are meant to stay wearable well past a single season.
Comfortable vision is the priority. If you spend time driving or working outdoors in Pasadena, we can talk through lens tint and polarization along with the frame.
Often chosen by: Driving, outdoor work, and prescription sunwear

Gold Collection
Solid 18K gold, on selected models
A premium line in which selected models are executed in solid 18K gold. The weight and depth of the material change how the design reads in person, which is the whole reason to see it on a face rather than in a photograph. Ask us what is available before you visit.

Contact the office before you visit and our team will let you know the best time to come in and see the collection with help from someone who knows the frames well.
Weight, balance, and finish are difficult to judge from photographs. Frames are fitted and adjusted here, and your prescription is already on file, so the eyewear you choose is set up for the way you actually see.
