What does a dry eye evaluation involve?
Dr. Pham reviews your symptoms, your daily routine, your medications, and your contact lens history, then examines the surface of your eyes and your tear film. The goal is to identify what may be contributing to the discomfort before discussing options. This page is general information and not a diagnosis.

Similar symptoms, different causes
Dryness is a symptom rather than a single condition. Tear quality, eyelid health, medications, allergies, screen habits, and the environment can all contribute, sometimes together.
Because the causes differ, the sensible first step is an evaluation rather than a product recommendation. Dr. Pham will examine your eyes, talk with you about your daily routine, and explain what he finds.
What a visit looks like
We start with what you are noticing and when it is worst. From there we look at the surface of the eye and the eyelids, then discuss the options that fit your situation and what to expect as you try them.
If you wear contact lenses
Discomfort late in the day is one of the most common reasons patients stop wearing contacts. Bring your lens boxes to the visit so we can review what you are currently wearing along with the health of the eye surface.
