More than a new prescription

Many patients come in expecting a quick vision check and leave with a much better understanding of their eyes. Your exam is an opportunity to review how you see at distance and up close, how your eyes work together, and how the eye itself looks.

Dr. Pham will explain what he sees in plain language, and you are welcome to ask questions at any point.

Common reasons patients schedule an exam

• It has been a year or more since the last exam
• Vision seems blurry, doubled, or harder to focus
• Headaches or tired eyes after reading or screen work
• Difficulty with night driving or glare
• Contacts or glasses no longer feel right
• A family history of eye disease
• A health condition such as diabetes that can affect the eyes

What may happen during your visit

Every exam is shaped by what you are experiencing, so the specifics vary. Generally we talk through your vision history and any symptoms, measure how you see, evaluate how your eyes focus and work together, and examine the health of the eye.

If anything needs a closer look or a follow-up visit, Dr. Pham will tell you why and what the next step involves.

• Your current glasses
• Your contact lens boxes or prescription details
• A photo ID
• Your vision or medical insurance card, if you have one
• A list of questions you would like to ask

When follow-up may be recommended

Some findings are best watched over time, and some are better evaluated with a dedicated medical eye-care visit. If that applies to you, we will explain the reason, the timing, and how to reach us if something changes before then.
